WHAT IS AN AMMONIA SYSTEM?

Large-scale industrial refrigeration units utilizing ammonia (R717) serve as a continuous, stable core cooling source for flake, tube, and block ice machines, as well as large cold storage facilities.

Compared to traditional Freon-based ice-making units, ammonia systems offer higher cooling capacity per unit and lower electricity consumption per ton of ice produced; furthermore, the refrigerant cost is a mere fraction of that of R404A. Consequently, they are the preferred cooling solution for large-scale ice plants (with daily outputs exceeding 10 tons), seafood processing facilities, and fishery terminals.
