ICESTA recently announced the successful commissioning of a 180-ton-per-day vegetable transport ice plant for a major agricultural logistics enterprise in Bijie, Guizhou Province, China. The project, featuring six units of 30-ton block ice machines (6×30T) operating in parallel, delivers a total capacity of 180 tons per 24 hours, providing reliable cold chain preservation for long-distance vegetable transportation in the Bijie region.
Bijie, located in northwestern Guizhou, serves as a major agricultural product distribution hub in Southwest China. The region' s complex terrain and long transport distances pose significant challenges to fresh produce preservation. To ensure optimal freshness of agricultural products during transit, the customer adopted ICESTA' s professional ice-making solution, addressing the ice supply needs at the very start of the cold chain.
The block ice produced by ICESTA' s machines is solid and dense, with customizable block weights (commonly 5kg, 10kg, 20kg, etc.). Its high density and slow melting characteristics make it particularly suitable for long-haul vegetable transport in non-insulated environments. The extended melting time of block ice provides sustained and stable cooling, effectively prolonging preservation, reducing spoilage during transit, and ensuring product quality from farm to table.
ICESTA deployed six 30-ton block ice machines in a parallel configuration, delivering a combined output of 180 tons per 24 hours. This modular design allows flexible capacity adjustment based on seasonal demand—individual units can be activated or deactivated as needed. The redundant configuration also ensures continuous ice supply, as single-unit maintenance does not interrupt overall production. All surfaces in contact with water or ice are constructed from food-grade 304 stainless steel, meeting hygienic standards for agricultural cold chain logistics.
